Ah, the fn snow. We, along with two other couples, had tickets to see Ian Tyson and the Calgary Symphonic, at 150. , a couple. I was the last hold out, but when our friends came over, the cops had H22 closed and they high centered on our access road, so we settled for Chinese food in Sundre. I'm sure Ian sang "Springtime in Alberta". Best they would do was issue a tax receipt for the value of the tickets.
Tody's project was going to be the start of a bathroom reno south of Water Valley. The lady phoned to say they had about three feet of snow in their driveway. Her husband had to spend last night in Olds.

West Calgary looks a lot like Turner Valley today.
Anybody know roughly the effects of late season snow on grouse populations and/or the herds?

It wasn't so bad here near Rocky. We had a candle lit dinner that was cooked on a one burner butain stove and boiled water for tea on the wood stove. (power was out from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm) Had some guests that spent the night in boxes of straw near the wood stove. (30 broiler chicks that were getting cold in the barn).
They say that in Rocky they have had snow every month of the year except July. Maybe this will be one of those years.

Man was I dreading heading into the office this morning. Thankfully the trees are not leafed out enough to hold any amount of snow in their canopies that would cause any breakage.
A late season 'smasher' in my world is a very, very bad thing! It's pretty much all melted here in NW Calgary right now.
We ain't out of the wood yet. Usually I consider June 1 to be the official 'breath easy' date.
