What exactly can we talk about in "General Discussion? I haven't seen so many locked thread since I quit going to CGN. I thought "general" meant anything seeing how we have a spot for all the outdoors stuff in the sub forums.

Maybe the mods can get togther and make up a list of approved topics

IMO, you are asking for trouble here...

The Mods seem pretty good, usually, about letting most things go even if they are non-outdoors related, ie: the hockey thread. If guys can keep the disscussion civil.

Asking for a list of approved topics seem like asking for limits a lot of guys may not be too happy with.

All that said, its Robs board and the Mods job to look after it, the rest of us are just guests here.

I don't nessasarily agree with a lot that gopherslayer does and says But I think he has the right to stay on a forum and yet have some "issues" with it.

When people come on here and say "if you don't like______ then go somewhere else" I wonder what they do in various aspects of there lives and their relationships. (no compromise or tolerence?)

It may be better to contact the mods or the admin. with ones issues rather than airing them on a thread, go slayer. If you think you are going to gain from getting confrontational on an open thread you will lose.

Let's see. There are 37 threads on a page. I just went through the first four pages and there are 4 locked threads. Not one of them has need for discussion and were locked for a reason. So, in four pages we have (37x4=148 threads) with four locked.

You can't be serious...

I hunt, I fish and I've trapped. I am not an expert at any of these activities, so I contain my activity for the most part to the 'General' section.

With that being said, in the year and a halfish that I've been on this site I've learned as much if not more about myself than I have about hunting and fishing. That is a big reason for a section named 'General'. It's just a group of semi-like minded people who share some of the same passions to exchange banter and ask questions that are not necessarily outdoor related, but get answers from a bit of a peer group.

Of course things can go off the rails by times. Thus we rely on the good judgement of our moderators. We may not always agree with their decisions, hell I get pizzed off too when I get zapped, but that's the rules of the game.

I am grateful for the existance of this board, I shall continue to enjoy it and I will always be a bit of a harmless pain in the azz for the mods!

When 'Silly' is kindda the motto of your life, human interaction will always be like an episode of 'Three's Company'.............I wouldn't have it any other way!

With that being said, I do believe that the mods could 'lighten up' a bit. But that's just the opinion of a person who lives his life pushing every possible limit.

Man, that would officially be called 'getting a taste of my own medicine'! SNIPER could learn a thing or two, Lil!

People really underestimate the value of laughter. I don't!

Tori is correct there Mike. He left on his own accord. I wouldn't take that bet with Tori either, as he did the same thing on the old board.
