Default Selling to cabellas

Hey folks. Has anyone ever sold a gun to cabellas? I looking to unload my marlin 336w with a broken screw that will be replaced before sale. I tried asking the guy what they generally offer for them but he wouldnt tell me what so ever. Anyway if you have sold one or tried to what do they offer? Im assuming is oretty low as they turnaround and re sell it.

Why not post it on here or CGN and make some money instead of losing to a franchise that will rob you blind without batting an eye, they've nothing to lose.
Most charge 15% or more, that includes private dealers.

If you don't mind taking 30% of what you want for your rifle. Get a quote from Cabelas, then mark it up 50% then post it here and it will be gone quick.

Default Cabelas

You would be lucky to get a 1/3 of your asking price. Cabelas is NOT the place to sell. They will then list it for more then what you privately wanted and charge the new buyer tax on top of it.

You won't get a fair price for it.

I was under the impression Cabelas only does "consignment" with used firearms...

I swear I overheard a guy asking about it last time I was there, and that was the reply from the sales clerk.

Looked into it. The assessment of condition was fair, and the guy was open about the offer being lower than what I could get otherwise. They take the price they believe they can sell it for and offer you around 50% of that, plus or minus depending on how fast it will likely move. Doesn't hurt to see what they will give you.

A decent working 336 will sell on here or CGN quickly at around $325, you can ask more, $350 might sell within a couple days or a couple weeks.

They typically sell for around $400-500 on here depending on condition, but again you said you wanted a quick sale, $325 should accomplish that.

They told me a few days ago, they determine the price they will sell it at, and give you 66% of that. There is no consignment there - they cut you a cheque.

Milarm and prophet river will both consign it and give you the full price in store credit.

Or as many suggested, sell it yourself and keep 100% of the cash

OUT this way I was offered 600 for 1400 dollar rifle before taxes,i told him he was either drunk or got hit in the head hard and took the rifle and left.Ido like lotsa stuff in store by the gun counter, unless they have something I have looked hard for then I pay up.

Default For example; consignment fees

I charge 20% for items valued between $1 and $500.
> I charge 15% for items valued between $501 and $1500.
> I charge 10% for items valued over $1500.

This is from a local gunstore (LGS) in the Edmonton area.
Others may charge more.
The LGS in Morinville is petty much the same.
Like mentioned, sell it yourself for 100% cash in your pocket, I understand too that situations dictate.

Most places are terrible if they buy it from you.
Had Bashaw offer me $800 for a $2500 Springfield M1A
and $600 for a Colt M4 Carbine.

Profit river is great with there consignment guns.
But the best is to sell here or on CGN
