New Anschutz 1927
I mounted the scope this morning, and despite the wind and rain, I had to try it out. It definitely preferred the RWS Championship Edition over SK Standard Plus and Center X, with a best five shot group of .230" at 50m.

Very nice, where do you get your ammo?

Very nice rig.
I think 22lr is one of the most overlooked chamberings when it comes to precision firearms. They are such a pleasure to shoot, virtually impossible to wear out, and provide uber cheap enjoyment and skill improvement. I love my Annie!

Super, duper nice rig. And as 260 said, great shooting. I can tell you never stopped at Tim's for an extra large double double on the way to the range.

I shot sporting clays at Beaverhill this morning, then the rings and bases came in the mail, so I mounted the scope, stopped for gas, and a monster energy coffee drink, and headed to the range, even though the weather was crappy. I did shoot a ten shot group at 100m, but the gusting wind was much more of a factor at the longer distance, resulting n a 1-1/4" group. I am very impressed with the speed and smoothness of the Fortner action.
I purchase my SK ammunition from Prophet River, but the RWS came from Target Sports in Ontario. I buy my target ammunition by the case of 5000, and I haven't purchased any in a few years. The last time I purchased SK Standard plus it was under $500 per case, ad the RWS was a limited run that I paid $550 for. The prices have gone up considerably since then, and people are paying close to that for much lower grade 22lr ammunition these days.

I don't compete, I just like shooting precision rifles, and now that I only have a 100m range close by, a 22lr makes the most sense. This isn't a benchrest rifle, the Fortner action benchrest rifle comes with a proper benchrest stock, and is a single shot. This rifle was designed for a discipline where optical sights are not used, and the shooting is much faster, so it has a ten shot magazine. The wedge at the front of the stock is an Anschutz option that is quickly bolted on to provide a flatter more level fore end for use on a rest. The rifle is really easy to shoot very quickly.

New Anschutz 1927
Congrats on a great purchase!
I've got over 60,000 rounds of trigger time on a handful of Anschutz 1827 Fornters. Amazing rimfires.
Bought my first 1827 Anschutz bolt action in 1995 at Wholesale Sports north Edmonton. Bought my first Fortner right at the factory in Ulm, Germany. Each of the next 4 1827's I've owned were bought at the factory in Germany. Amazing place with tons of history.
As for ammo, Lapua Polar was my wintertime ammo and Lapua Master for summer.

I have about 3500 rounds of the RWS loads on hand, so I am good for a while. Then I will need to do some more testing.

I find the price on the high side for what you get.

A person has to actually know what you get, to determine if you paid to much to get it.
