Disposal of railroad ties???
Bought a new piece of land and unfortunately it came with a ton of old treated ties. No county dumos take them.
Aside from burning them which I don't want to do what can a guy do?

Used railroad ties
Call a couple of the nearest golf courses in your area & see if they could use them for retaining walls, etc.

Where are the ties, what kind of shape are they in, and how much do you want for them?

what ever you do don't roast a hot dog over them..... I was young and with a buddy that I thought knew what he was doing, we were fishing along the river and built a fire.... we had to constantly wipe ,"the black stuff?" off of our hot dogs. Lost a few years there me thinks.......

Best landscape ties ever ...
Buried level with the ground between a garden bed and the lawn, they won't (seemingly) ever rot, and the couch grass won't get under them. If I needed any such, I would be on them quickly.
Do not burn them. My friend and I were camping on a river island during a float fishing expedition. Our driftwood fire got one creosoted fencepost. We had to move the tent and all our gear back a ways when that thing fully caught and shot an unbelievable pillar of falme and black smoke.

Or cut them up with a chainsaw you care about.

If you are in Edmonton area the only place that takes them is the Cloverbar Landfill. I had to dispose of some a few years ago.
As others have hinted if they are in decent shape they would be easy to sell. If they are all beat up and half rotten then take them to Cloverbar or the Calgary equivalent.
Don't try burning them, been there done that and even small pieces give off an insane amount of nasty black smoke.

retaining walls, driveway markers, permanent blinds even used them for corner fence posts
Many years ago they replaced all the switch ties (heavier and wider than normal ties) on a siding near here.
I approached CN about buying some and they wanted $2. per tie but I had to take them in the order they came as they didnt want the good ones picked out and the junk left behind. I figured that was too much by the time I sorted and discarded every second or third tie so I passed.
CN called me back a month later and said they cant burn them cant use them so if I took them all I could have them for free.
think it was 7 or 8 truckloads on my new silverado in those days but we got them home and created 4 to 5 large stacks as high as myself and my boys could hoist them.
We build retaining walls, edged the driveway and gradually built up the pit run to crushed gravel by adding another layer or two of ties. We used ties as a back fill and partial back stop where we shoot as well. Had a few neighbors and friends take a few for similar projects but I still had a lot of them so we built permanent duck and goose blinds on a couple sloughs here. Cut one tie with chain saw and used leather hinges to attach a door so the dogs could go in and out. My pheasant pens all have screen buried around the edges but as an extra precaution we also lined the outside edge with railway ties. Sure there were other uses I cant think of right now but when you have them you will find a use for them. Bet there were two hundred good ones in those piles and they have been gone for many years.

Drop them off at the local CN rail yard. They will be cleaned up, no doubt.

Heck, I'd probably take some off your hands if you're close.

After 35 years working for a railroad I hate them damn things, because of all the new environmental laws the railroad can't even give them away anymore, they all have to be loaded and sent off to SwanHills for disposal..

Took a few to Shepard a couple years back from our yard, was not cheap, they charged extra as it was hazardous materials, that dump run was about 3 times the $ compared to my other dump runs I have done.
OP, try to sell the them or give them away, probably your best bet.
