Default Driving on chin coulee safe ?

Has anyone been out ice fishing chin this year? I have a decent spot I'd like to get to but its not road accessed and would be a bit of a drive on the ice.

Do not drive under the highway 36 bridge or in front of the boat launch. Not many locals drive on that lake.

I wouldn't. The ice was only about 8" at our first spot on the west side last week and 10" at another. There was some flood water where we were. I would also second staying away from the causeway if you do decide to venture out on it. Have seen pics of more then 1 vehicle gone through there.

Driving on any reservoir is never safe. Ive seen huge cracks on badger 15 feet wide at the widest in the middle of Jan, that came a hundred feet out from shore. The next day it had a skin of ice over it. That was the end of me driving on the windy lakes in the south. Now, define safe. I may take a quad or sled but its not a fast ride.
