Default Lake Okeechobee

Hey friends. Heading down to Florida for a week of visiting and fishing mid December. I'd like to take my dad on a little fishing trip to Okeechobee for some bass action. Can anyone recommend any guides or have any tips for the area? I'd like to do some canal and maybe even some surf fishing as well. Thanks!

If you get down in the Miami -Lauderdale area I'd recommend Alan Zaremba. Probably the top guy down there for Florida peacock bass, I've had decent success with him! I know he also does Everglades trips but I haven't gone... yet.

Thanks I'll look him up! I actually watched a YouTube video today that he was guiding on.

He was the guide for that ridiculous episode of river monsters for snakeheads.

Good guy and is open to a fly rod on the boat so that's a plus.

Ended up booking a trip on the Miami canals with Scott Rose and caught some absolutely beautiful peacocks. Truly a trip I will always remember.

I also had a lot of fun fishing the little lakes and rivers down there. Can't wait to go back!
