Default Wedding Catering

Hey AO, I'm getting married in June, we are looking for a good on site caterer. Steak, prime rib, chicken and all the fixings.

Location: 30min approx west of leduc 4 miles south of hwy 39

50-60 people

Can anyone recommend a catering service?

We used Motley Que for our wedding in October. They are a BBQ competition team out of Edmonton. Did Brisket, whole hog, 2 sides, perogies and buns. Worked out to be about $30/person. Everybody loved it and I still have a ton of leftovers vac sealed in the freezer!

Food, Food, Food, you'll find someone, how about a congratulations on your impending wedding, all the best to you and the future Mrs.

Default Bob Ronnie

Although Bob Ronnie may be busy and people think he is great, I do not think he has changed his menu in 8 years.
Go to 1 wedding and years later he will be serving the same food.
If you get wind that Bob is serving a function you can bet on the dishes down to the pickles.

That’s why we went the BBQ route. All wedding food is the same. Roast beef or chicken. My request for the wedding was the food had to be different.

Can't go wrong with the Whitebull outta Drayton. He's done the last few xmas parties I've been to and the food is always excellent. Did prime rib this year, and was very tasty!

The two best I’ve dealt with are Thrive Catering in Edmonton and Naks Bistro and Catering, also in Edmonton. Both cater outside the city and both are incredibly delicious and willing to work with any requests/budgets.

Hard to beat BBQ, especially in 'Berta.

For my buddy's wedding last summer they had a Taco bar with a rediculous amount of fixings. And for a midnight snack he brought in a truckload of Royal Pizza pies and had a HUGE candy buffet all night. Everyone pigged out HARD on the Tacos.

The food was so simple and it was a smashing success, everyone absolutely loved it and was all anyone was talking about for months.

I could get the info if anyone needs it.

We did a pig roast for our wedding. It was super affordable and awesome food.

For my parents 50th wedding anniversary last spring we did all the food ourselves (don't recommend it) and our midnight lunch was a hot dog bar. It was a huge success!!

I am very good friends with the family that runs NAKs Catering. My son works for them at banquets, and on the odd occasion I still cook for them too

For those who have supplied liquor for their weddings, how much would you buy for say 70 guests? Or whatever ratio you picked. 4 per person on average etc etc

Good choice. They are our neighbors and good friends as well so I refrained from suggesting them because I am biased towards them obviously

Most liquor stores will have a chart. Some are out to lunch but we found the Costco list to be fairly accurate. They had the best prices too. We did a toonie bar, a $4.50/person corkage, had to pay $500 for bar staff and we made a little bit of $$ on the bar

You can always take back what isn’t opened. I’d use the Costco list and then adjust based on the party group. We had a lot of whisky and vodka drinkers so we upped that and took less rum. The wedding was in October so people drank less beer. We had 150 guests but went with the 250 guest amount just cause we had lots of partiers. We took back 2 bottles of rye, 2 bottles of vodka and some beer. Brought home 1/2 a bottle of vodka and gave away a 1/2 bottle of rum. The only thing with Costco is you usually have to buy 48 packs. Once one is opened you can’t take any back so I have 2-3 flats of beer in the cold room but they’ll get drank!

Yeah I've been looking at Costco and their versions of popular alcohol some which are made in the same facilities as the popular liquors. Grey goose and Kirkland vodka, jim beam and Kirkland rye etc

Rather than start a new thread I'll just keep asking in this one?

Does anyone know of a bartending service company?

Like where you can hire bartenders to serve your party?
