I've always had atleast 1 .30-06 around and I do most my killing with a .30-06 however I don't particularly like the chambering... I think a .308 makes a lot more sense. Typically lighter, less recoil, ballistics really aren't far behind if half a thought is given to power/bullet/loads...good brass is widely available for both and both will happily digest a variety of powders if need be, so that's good.

Who knows, maybe when all my R-P .30-06 brass is finished and all my H4350 is gone, I'll move on...
