WTB: 410 gauge
Looking for a 410 gauge shotgun, double barrel or over/under or combo with a 22LR. Not looking for anything high end or expensive just something for me and my boys to use. DM me please. Thx.

Yup, but an old savage will cost even more. The older savages look nice, the new idea of splitting the barrels looks plain fugly to my eyes.

True, but that's what OP wanted. Limited choices other than a Savage model 42---which is an absolute POS--bought one for my boy, couldn't be more disappointed, junk. The Chiappa for $400 seems decent--not sure what you mean about exchange--price is in Canadian.

Do yourself a favour and get a 20 gauge or 20/22 combo. I have had a few 410s, auto, sxs and 410/22. Big problem with the 410 is shells are ridiculously expensive. I can buy 3 or 4 boxes of 20 gauge for the price of a box of 410. Sold all my 410s, now using a 20/22 made by Baikal. Interchangeable chokes, and the 22 is very accurate even with the open sights I can head shoot grouse to 25 yards. The 20 guage is no noisier and no notrticable recoil using target loads.

That's always been my reason against owning one, less cost, more lethality in a 20 gauge.

Daughter shoots a .410. The ammo is ridiculous . That being said, don't over caliber on a new shooter--the recoil can be a big turn off. JMHO

For ground swatting grouse, aiming high with a 20 gauge ruins less meat, than aiming center mass with a 410. For teaching wing shooting, nothing is as frustrating, as missing shot after shot with a 410. I have seen young shooters ready to give up on wing shooting, because they were given a 410, and couldn't hit anything.

I grew up hunting rabbits with my uncle's single shot 410, don't know what brand it was or whatever happened to it but I'll never forget the feeling when packing it around. Considered buying one over the years but settled on a 12ga.

I have a Baikal 22wmr/410 combo, works well for hare and grouse.
