As noted above, you will need the required permit, or only hunt during regular rifle openings (by & large).
Excalibur makes the best recurve out there.
They also carry the best warranty in the business - bar none.
Easy to work on (no need for a press), accurate as hell, and tougher than nails.

700 clams is actually a good starting point for many of those bows.
BTW - the warranty follows the bow, not the owner.
These bows are really tough, I have bought several used ones with no hesitation.
And would again were I seeking another.
