Default for the flintlock lovers

just thought I'd share this shot I snapped, the G&A discussion could use a little more porn:

PS I know the leather goes all the way around the flint, but those double sided agate flints don't stay far enough back in the hammer that way. Guess I won't be buying them again.

Default Flints

Contact Will Lord in the UK, he makes nice flints out of English Brandon Flint any size you want.

Looks good. You do need some real flints. Those cut rocks just don't replace the real thing.

Looks mighty fine.
I replaced the leather for my flints with lead wrapped flints. Holds better, moulds to shape of flint and provides "solid" contact rather than a "cushioned" contact with flint striking frizzen.
Just pound a .50 cal ball flat or what I do is cut a slice of auto body sheet lead.
Just my .02 cents.

Make some smoke and keep yer powder dry

Very nice. Only problem is the lock is on the wrong side.

All in you should have a lot of fun with it. I really like shooting rock locks, it brings a whole new meaning to consistency of shooting technique and proper follow through.

yeah, my buddy has a pretty bad flinch and he had a lot of trouble shooting it. Wish I could post a slow-mo video he took of me taking a shot though...
