What can I turn a 300 win mag action into??? I am thinking I can use it for a 9.3 x 62 build, but what else? Exotics?

You can’t use it to build a 9.3x62 on, no. What make of action is it?

As chuck stated, 9.3 X62 is a nogo, case head is in the" medium " size, like 30'06.

You could do a 358 Norma, or go down to the various 7mm magnum cases however. You could also do a 9.3X300 Mag as well, of course

It is it a full length magnum ie 375 H&H. Possible to do a 358STA. I've done both 358 Norma mag and 358 STA.

I guess depends on what you want. If it were mine I would go 7-300wm with a fast twist.

Your bolt face is built for a 0.532” case rim, you can have a bit of wiggle room on that, but that’s about where it is. Your action length holds you to cartridges with a tip to tail length not exceeding 3.70”.

300/375H&H will fit.
9.3x74R will work (may have to modify the mag rails)
8mm/416 Rem Mag will work.
Any of the STW/STA type cartridges.
And a host of others.

At any rate the gunsmith you seek to do this project should be able to guide your choice, as the gunsmith should have either the reamer on hand or at least a working knowledge of the reamers he can get.

A book such as the Handloaders Manual to Cartridge Conversions, is a good buy to get some self education on this matter.

7 Rem Mag, 300 Mag, 338 mag, 375 H&H, 8 MM Mag (.532 Rim, COAL 3.34). The 338, 375 etc Ruger series can be chambered too, with no major changes. It can also be opened up to .550 to do 7 RUM, 300 RUM and 375 RUM but only if the action is actually long enough (COAL on RUMs is around 3.7"). Need to measure it to be sure. It will also accommodate the .534 head diameter and 3.4 COAL of the 26,28, 30 Cal Nosler cartridges, as well as 7 STW and number of other wildcats. There really is no end to the choices you can make.

Without modifying the boltface, you can rebarrel to most belted magnums from the 257, 270, 7mm Wby cartridges, the 264win, 6.5rem,7mmrem, 300H&H, 8mmremmqg, 338win, 375 H&H, 416 rem, 458win, as well as the RUM cartridges. The RUM cartridges will require a different magazine insert to hold three rounds. The larger Weatherby belted magnums use a larger boltface, as do the WSM cartridges.
