Default M14x1 barrel thread protector?

Anybody know of somewhere to get a barrel thread protector for my tikka t3 in 7mm? It came with a muzzle brake but I would prefer to not use it. I had the brake gauged and it is M14x1 threads on it.
I asked a local gunsmith about it and was told he could make me one. That was over a month ago and he wont answer or returns my calls. I have found them online in the states but am concerned it wont make it through customs if I get it shipped.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

It’s not difficult to make a cap , the issue is having the correct tap.

A muzzle cap will make it across the border .

Internal threading on a lathe would work and be accurate, tap maybe not so,

I’ve made hundreds of threaded caps for muzzle brakes and all with the a tap and in the lathe .The tolerances for a cap are not that critical they need to be kept in a certain classification . One certainly could cut with internal threading but the cost would be reflective.

If you don't care what it looks like (ie: it's just to keep the threads from getting banged up), the muzzle nut from a VZ58 or CZ858 is threaded M14x1. $12 from Dlask Arms in BC.
