I’ve seen & caught eyes in 10 FoW or less this time of year. Key is early morning or evening. The fish are there but will become lethargic as the season continues. If not getting bites, you need to move around. I personally make the mistake of staying in 1 spot too long if not biting because it’s easier to leave the shelter set up haha. Either way, good to have holes pre-drilled at different depths so you’re not spooking fish.

Thinking about heading out on Sunday for our first time ice fishing this year/season, yay.

Would anyone happen to know updated ice thickness at these places?
  • Eagle Lake
  • Chain Lakes
  • Dalemead Lake
  • Barrier Lake
  • Spray Lakes res

From what I've been seeing on here, about 8 inches at some of them? I wonder if the recent cold snap has improved the ice conditions further though.

Thanks so much!

Default Chain Lakes

About 11”, with 6” snow cover today. Not enough ice for me to feel comfortable driving my truck around on.

It'll be tons at Kinbrook. I'd be surprised if it's less than 16" right now. There was over a foot of solid black ice in that general area in mid-December...
