Default new shotgun

I am trying to talk myself into a new shotgun, specifically the franchi affinity 3 elite. I have a winchester sxp that works perfectly fine., just in the mood for a new gun and trying to justify it haha. Any reason I shouldn't grab the franchi?

I can't think of any reason at all that you shouldn't buy yourself a new shotgun.

Haha! Thankfully that's not part of the problem. Mostly just trying to convince myself it's worth the money at this point

Franchi fits very different than the SX. If you hit well with the SX you may not with the Franchi. Are you in a location where you can you arrange to shoot a few rounds of clays with the Franchi to see how you make out before you have to buy one.

Won't be able to shoot it. Going to shoulder one on Tuesday and see how it feels

I have a number of browning o/u & semi shotguns all of which I quite like but wanted something light and synthetic stocked for pheasant hunting in wet, bush busting conditions.

So this summer bought a franchi affinity 3 synthetic black in 20 gauge. Advertised weight is 6 lbs. which is confirmed in my kitchen scale. In 20 gauge only available with 26” barrel. Feels very close in fit to what My browning A5 synthetic does. Took it Twice for 50 rounds of sporting clays. Seems to point rather swing. After these 50 round sporting clays still very clean. No problems with ejection on sporting clay loads or field loads.

Some reviews have noted affinity 3 being hard to load, but mine is ok for loading and all handling has been good. Still a bit tight to assemble the forearm, but getting better with use.

Took it pheasant hunting on opening day, 2 shots 2 pheasants.

Perfect gun for me.

Not sure if Franchi changed up the gate on the loading port but the older ones could get you good if you weren't careful. Some sharp square edges there that could be rounded off.

Very good little shotguns though.

If I was in the market for a new semi I would take a serious look at the Fabarm L4S initial hunter. I think shooters edge carries these. Read the Randy Wakeman review. I shot one last year and it is a superb gun with a great piston system.
