They are about $50 a set....and yes they are by far the nicest rings I have used for a Rem 700 in the past...would never think of using anything else.....

Easy place to get them is from the 24hourcampfire forums....

I buy direct from Talley, they are the second best mounts available, non-custom, EAW are the best, but brutally expensive. I strongly suggest buying from Talley and avoiding middlemen, I have had difficulties with doing so in the past.

Talley's come in a couple of basic designs. The "original" which involve a base and ring, and the light weights which are a base and ring combination. Here is picture of a set of originals in custom bases, and then the LW's. Originals will run $100 more or so.

Corlane Sports (Rocky Mtn Rifles) in Dawson Creek B.C. has them as well.

I've used Talley's a few times in the past and have always been happy with them. They're fairly rugged and well designed. I presently have a set of quick detachables on my CZ 550 Safari Magnum and I think I paid $70 for them. The 550 has integral bases so that was rings only.

i use mostly loopys...one of my wbys has a set of conetrol rings and bases, but from my unsofistikated opinion, they dont work any better or worse than the leupys.
talley looks to be a nice option, i always like the looks of bases that do not extend beyond (cantilever) the chamber area. Like on Chucks guns, it just looks 'finished' and it seems to keep the whole area uncluttered for spoonfeeding rounds.
even two hundred $ for rings and bases is a small price to pay when it holds a small fortune worth of shooting iron.
its a feeble excuse for a miss saying your scope is out...there no such thing as overkill AND underbudget!!!
spend as much as you can afford on the glass and mounts and less on the gun.
cheers

Default rings

That is the problem I am having is that all the bases I have tried so far, hang over the loading port. I am shooting a rem. model 7 xcr it requires an extremely short rear base. What do others with a model 7 use?

Corlane's only carries the Talley LW one piece alloy rings in the Black Anodized finish. I just ordered 2 sets. With postage the bill was $115.00.

The only Canadian company that carries the silver finish in the same model is Omineca in Vancouver.

WSS in Lethbridge claims to be a retailer for Talley, but they never have anything in stock. They will set up a 'special order' but the price goes up.
