Default Great service at WSS Edmonton North

I had been watching the WSS ad in Canadian Access for Firearms, and was interested in the 28 gauge Cynergy Feather that WSS had listed on sale for $1699. As well ,Browning has a $100 rebate on for the Cynergy models, and I had a $20 discount card, making the deal even more attractive. I had just left Cabelas and decided to stop in at WSS North on the way home, in the off chance that they had the Cynergy Feather in stock. I walked up to the counter and was immediately met by Merv, who went into the back to check their stock.Surprisingly, they had the gun in stock, and he was back within a minute or so with the correct firearm. Merv then put the gun together so that I could shoulder it. I asked about the Browning rebate, and he immediately had another person print out the rebate form, and confirm that the rebate was still in effect.I decided to purchase the gun, and Merv immediately registered the gun online, and filled out the rebate form, and had his boss sign the rebate form. Merv then escorted me to customer service, where he had the clerk photocopy the bill or sale and registration form, so that I would have copies to send to Browning with the rebate form.
While I have been frustrated with the lack of stock at WSS, and even more so trying to place phone orders, the overall experience yesterday at WSS North was as good as it get anywhere. The price was great, they had the product in stock, and the service was fast and courteous. I don't really believe that the stock situation at WSS is fixed, or that the phone service will be as good as it used to be many years ago, but it was refreshing to see that a person can still have a good experience in a WSS store.

Lefty, you are right. It IS nice to see some positive comments on here. I think lots of times we run into WSS or Cabelas to grab something small or quick and we get good service but because the purchase was inexpensive or straight forward we don't really think too much about it. Sometimes we get great service but because we expect it (and we should) we don't ever here about it on forums etc.

I have had a few times with bad service at both of these stores but 9 times out of 10 I've had good or great service. People it seems, tend to focus more on the bad and people tend to naturally complain so we get inundated with stories of bad service. Of course there have been some REALLY horrible examples of how not to run a business and/or treat customers, that I've read about on here too. Those examples of staff, practices etc, obviously should be pointed out so that we as customers can, hopefully change that behavior by voting with our dollars and buying from places which look after customers.
