Default 2018 whitetail

Only had 2 days to hunt this November and I suppose I made it count. I have passed on many many deer the past 4 years as I couldn’t find one that stuck out to me.

Hunted Saturday with my girlfriend saw around 10 does and 2 small bucks neither of which were interested in each other. Decided to pass on all. Went back to the same spot we were sitting on Sunday by my self and saw a few does milling about on the cutline. Decided to try a few small grunts with no reaction. They left the trail and I sat for about another hour. Just as I was packing my bag up another doe popped out on the line, but she kept looking over her shoulder. I decided to load up just Incase a buck was on her trail. She trotted off and not a minute later this buck was nose down on her trail. I got settled on my bipod and he stuck his head up and stopped. (Must have saw me moving as I was sitting right in the middle of the line) settle the cross hairs at 143yards and he fell where he stood. 6km round trip to get my sled and pull him out up and down stubble field hills and bush line. Super happy. My season is over as I’ve headed back to work but this buck and an early season bull elk have filled the freezer nicely.

Good luck everyone, shoot straight and stay safe.

That’s a great buck! Congrats Bassett.

For the second year in a row I shot a Unicorn in the way of a late season Immy bull moose in 530 yesterday but you think I could find a half decent Whitetail buck up this way? Nope.

Beauty buck you got there. Patience paid off for you!

Also, thank you for your input on the area I was asking about. Greatly appreciated. Hopefully I can find the Brother to yours.

Nice Whitetail again sir!

Thanks everyone. He did have a little kicker off his base.

Never really seen this much white between hooves either.
