If yu wrere wondering why the people at the NFA and CSSA were going to the UN for some of the meetings, here is an example of what goes on there;

So, two members of the SECU, both Cons, are asking Goodale, to fix the Swiss Arms/CZ858 registration issue. Why, you may ask? Only because there was no mechanism in place to do so.

If you would like to explore it and see where the Libs want to go with firearms legislation, here is where they get their ideas;

So, Mr Goodale is now passing off some of his responsibility, to a new minister of guns and gangs and border security. Former Toronto Police Chief, Bill Blair.
So, there goes a couple of hundred thousand of the 327 million allocation. And apparently Blair fully believes in the registry. And he will now be in charge of the CFAC.

And now Goodale is saying he stays in charge of the firearms act and C71 and the CFAC. I'm thinking probably better him than Blair, likely the lesser of two evils. Haven't seen anything on the Swiss Arms letter to Goodale in the way of a reply, yet. Wondering if something will suddenly appear on the RCMP website, or not.

Pretty fair lines of thought in here, Toronto incident will give Goodale an crew lots of impetus, if you think you are safe under C71's provisions at this point, you may wind up looking like the proverbial ostrich down the road.

My bet is there will either be a new bill, or C71 will go back for amendments before 3rd reading is done.

It would now appear Toronto will likely be in the process of voiding gunshop business licences. I would imagine people like Cdn Tire will have something to say about it, but, will comply. And there will be court challenges to it, no doubt. Now would be a real good time to send some money to the CSSA and NFA and CCFR, they will need it, if you don't have memberships, it'd be prime time to get one. Goodale hasn't said what he will do yet, but, you can bet we are now in the fight like we have never seen before. The game is on, and there is a pretty good chance it will be worse than we have ever seen. The media is touting "gun violence", not gang violence or mental derangement or criminal acts where guns were used, just gun violence.
And today is the last day for the E-1608 petition, it closes at midnight Ottawa time, 86,000 sigs, sounds like a lot, but, not very good. It is the 2nd largest MP sponsored petition of the lot, but, should be 10 times that, then it may have had some clout.

Well, the story on the Toronto shooter seems to be emerging, and it appears to be a failure to enforce existing law again, along with the fact that no law will be respected by the people involved;

https://internationalfreepress.com/2...rearm-arsenal/

And, meet Bill Blair, the minister of Nothing (yet), love how Goodale was sitting right beside him.

Looks like this may be how the gov't could redo C71 to bring in a handgun ban, at the very least. This is something they can run with, that can conceivably get them re-elected in their view. The media will not help us here, they will support it and not counter the propaganda the gov't and the antis are using. With a majority gov't and orders to follow the party line, they are able to do it.

This editorial points out the dilemma we are involved in very well. Emotions need to be controlled in our letters to the gov't and our interactions with non-gun owners and antis. We need to quit being our own worst enemies and think before writing and talking.
The simple truth of it is well explained here, and this editor is not known for being kind to gun owners;

The expected statement has been made by the Cons, standard fare. Not much can be said or done at this point from their end, except to hurry up and wait to see what Ralph come up with in Sept. In the meantime, the letters to the MP's and Senate and the SECU need to start again;

And don't forget this little tidbit. This is still ongoing, no statement issued by Ralph on this yet, it is in limbo, and so are the Swiss Arms/CZ owners. People tried to comply with the future law as requested to by the gov't, but , the RCMP would not process the applications;

This is kinda comical, except that he thinks all cities in Canada should be able to ban handguns if they want to. Not that most Albertans need a reminder not to vote NDP, some in the rest of the country don't get the picture. How can this guy want to run a country, but, not know how to run his own party?

Didn't know there really was only one gun shop, in the City of Toronto.

I've seen a few articles like this around over the last couple of weeks, people are starting to wonder if the dots connect, and if there is something the gov't is not telling us about on this. Hard to say what is truth or fiction, but, it raises questions that it would seem the govt's would rather not see asked.

and an article from the CBC yet---questioning the validity of the govt's use of the "crime gun" statistics they are promoting as being the gospel;

Very well expressed plea to gun owners to get busy and get on the bandwagon to stop Goodale and crew from any further shenanigans, and ideas on how to do it. From the folks at Calibre Magazine;

It has been noted that Toronto does not have the authority to bring about a gun ban in the city. But, Tory is asking the feds to do a lot of nasty stuff here. Now is the time to get on the Liberals backbenchers cases and inspire them to let Trudeau know they will vote against the party line on this, and remind the Cons that they need to help persuade the backbenchers to vote against the party line. The only practical idea espoused here is the bail reform. The rest is emotional garbage. Just ask the mayor of Chicago how their gun laws are doing there.

Just to remind people that even the CBC occasionally calls BS to the gov't narrative on C71;

Wow, CBC is actually publishing what has been being said all along, the Libs are basing their rhetoric on false pretenses;

The wingnut in Fredricton ton hasn't helped the situation any, still no real news on what the Libs are actually planning to do in Sept. Plenty of commentary on both sides of the fence. Montreal is joining Toronto in asking for a handgun ban.

Interesting pair of statements here, new chairman of the police chiefs, and Goodale talking to the police chiefs in Halifax today
