I was surprised to see people still rob banks, not nearly as lucrative these electronic days I would think.

To exploit this to drone on about high capacity magazines and public safety.
Where they still looking for a 3rd shooter?

Listening to the video sounds like automatic gunfire could've been the police firearms there's an update later today.

Bumbling Billy will be wetting his pants regardless if the guns were legal, prohibited, smuggled, firearm owners will pay for this.

True but to quote a famous bank robber “that’s where the money is.”

The footage of the shootout looks just like in the movies.

Quite the shootout...

Not much said about the "recently departed" robbers. May they rot in hell.

I really hope the brave police officers all recuperate well.

Lots of cops shooting at them. Not surprised they didn’t make it out.

Good to see it was full on and that the two *****s are no longer walking the face of the earth costing tax payers money to house, feed and cloth.

Wish a full speedy recovery for the officers involved!

Yesterday there were some articles that left some questions regarding the # of bad guys: one noted two suspects down, two in custody plus the possible other suspect they were looking for. One doesn’t consider deceased suspects as being ‘in custody’ so I’m left wondering if this was two or four offenders?

I wonder how many phone calls Mendocino has made to find out what firearms the perps used?

Well they couldn't possibly using any "assault rifles" because they are not allowed in Canada and Im sure the robbers are following all relevant gun regulations

Bad situation. They maybe just needed gas money? Who knows the motive but with inflation and the high cost of living combined with peoples mental
Health after living two years with restrictions and lock downs involving isolation I am concerned these volatile incidents will become more common as people become more desperate to provide for themselves and their families.

Unfortunately I assume some on both sides of the firearm debate will use this incident to further polarize firearm ownership rights and the issues surrounding firearm restrictions.

If it’s the video posted that I watched it’s definitely not automatic . Cyclic rate is too low. Plus we all know from the education we’ve recorded from liberals and antis that automatic gunfire sprays 10000 bullets per second and makes one single braaaaap

I saw a quote on a CBC article yesterday where a witness was describing what she saw and heard.

"At that time then, there were a lot of shots, lots and lots. I would say it was automatic fire because they had big guns; they didn't have handguns."

Logic fail... "Big Guns" = Automatics.

Terrible situation all around and my heart goes out to the wounded officers. I hope for full recoveries.

News thankfully reported all police officers will survive.

That unfortunately, is what legal gun owner in this country are facing.

Just a guess, but I seriously doubt they had automatic weapons.

That initial video where the shooting was happening looked like all the police had were pistols, though later footage had a lot of long guns among the police present. I'm wondering if the witness description was of the firearms the offenders had? We all know that the gov't will try to make hay of whatever guns were used, regardless of whether they were Ruger 10/22's or AR-15's.

I wonder if the pathetic wimps in Uvalde could learn something from watching how real cops do their job? Bet they had a lot more than handguns on them while they milled around outside that school too.

I guess the fact that only the criminals are dead, and no civilians were injured is a big positive. It's too bad that isn't the situation more often. I am just hoping that nobody tries to use this incident to promote a political agenda.

Lucky the emergency response team was doing an exercise in the area they were on scene very quick the robbers never saw that coming. The 30 or so bullet holes in the windshield cut short any plans they may have had, just not their lucky day.

I wonder if these guys had bigger plans with the explosive devices found in the van?

Reports seem vague about on how many people were in the bank when this went down.

No police in Canada have automatic rifles. All their carbines are semi auto only, that includes the ERT.
