All I want now is some real summer with some heat so we can all enjoy the outdoors with all the mosquitoes, instead of rain every day and every weekend.

I will be driving up to Yellowknife on Thursday, and meeting a friend who is coming to visit from Australia. We have 4 days booked at a fishing lodge on eastern arm of Slave Lake, so hoping to get some lake trout, some big pike, and maybe some grayling as well. Then we drive back to GP for a couple days, and will show him around here a bit (shouldn't take long!), then back to Edmonton so he can fly home. Really looking forward to the fishing.

Wifey and I did a ‘real up’ training run yesterday.
Sinister 7 in 6 days…… not quite ready but it’s comin anyways.
It’s known around here as ‘type 2 fun’.
Really really hard to get the body goin after sittin for 7 days straight.
But worth it.

Bessie, I am always a bit in awe of what you do for fun. Hope the training pays off and you have a good Sinister run.
Define Type 2 Fun please.
The only way I am running anymore, is if something with teeth and claws is chasing me and my gun is empty.

Type 2 fun
It hurts… you question why you did this to yourself
But the views…. You smile
And the memories… you smile about.
When you take your eyes off the trail and a ‘wood snek’ decides to strike… and you pile ass over teakettle into the bush… and you wife howls in laughter…..
You like that you had the experience as you sip a beer much later in the day.
Type 2 fun…. Good times.

We're taking the Jet Ranger on her last trip before I sell it. Going to Whitehorse, make a loop back down through Smithers, Kelowna and then back home.
Then hit Langara Island Lodge in August.

There was one time I can remember about 15 years ago when wife convinced me to hike up the mountains in jasper, and the only reason I agreed - the promise of a wild sex on the top….I made it to the top, the view was great and the rest was even better! We both chuckle remembering this… that was the only time I climbed that high without mechanized help…

Camping, fishing, have pit controlled fires and tell lots of fishing lies. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Have a friend going to take care of my lawn maintenance so more free time.

theres a good chance I will get out fishing . Id love to fish from the West coast to Manitoba. I just might I also want to take my 3 sons for white sturgeon, dont know if it will be this season or next but its gonna happen. I need to hit my goal of 700 lake sturgeon and Id like to do that in the next month or two as well, then move the bar
maybe find a few new snake dens, call in some poachers, and take lots of photos.

Summer fun for me will be whatever I do with my family. No real set plans but it doesn’t matter much. Just being with them whether that’s on a road trip a camping trip or a movie night. Sometimes we forget how important they are and in recent posts we’ve seen how fast that can slip away. So my summer fun will be with the family - reminding them that they are my priority!

Some mushroom hunting, some metal detecting, picking saskatoons with the kids-then making pies.

Mostly stuff around the house. The wife is still recovering from surgery and isn't up for doing too much. I'm off work for the entire month of July. I recently bought a magnet fishing kit and I'm eager to try it out but have no idea where.

Frontier Lodge. They had a cancellation so we were able to get a spot.
