Default 7mm Rem Mag Cartridge Selection for Big Game?

In the spirit of using one gun for all big game I would like some insight on cartridges for the 7mm Rem Mag. What is your pick if you had to choose one round suitable for all big game in this calibre. Thanks all!

What kind of gun do you have ?? What's the Barrel Length ?? What's the twist Rate on the Barrel ? How far do you want to shoot ?? Do you handload your own ammo or are you looking for factory ammo ??

160gr Federal Premium Trophy Bonded Tip,, Best preforming bullet I've ever used in any caliber. Just wish it was available for reloading,, the closest one to it is the relatively expensive North Fork SS bullet

I've used 150 grain power shok, 165 game kings, 160 accubonds, 160 partition and 160 tsx in 7mm rem favourite is the tsx due to being the most accurate

No longer have a 7mm but when I did I always used 175 grain. I like heavier bullets for elk. Used to reload nosler partitions. They were awesome. Each to his/her own.

150 Swift Scirocco. By and large, the best combination of BC, expansion (generally 2.2 x dia within 2200 fps impact velocity), 75% retained weight and enough shrapnels (25%) for quick kills.

Find out what your gun likes. I reload my own and find my gun really likes Berger VLD Hunting in 160 grain I think. Got my 2016 whitetail with that and was happy with the performance.

I have also had good performance with the Federal blue box again in 160 I think. My gun really loves them and been trying to replicate (reloading) ever since.

Default bullet of choice

The guys I load for that shoot Noslers shoot the old 160 ACCUBOND. I have tested the new 168 gr. LRAB in my own rifle but the newbies are starting to use the Hornady 162 ELD-X. Basically a price move. We've had good success with all bullets mentioned here.

When I had a 7mm I shot everything from pronghorn to moose with 160 partitions. Worked well for me.

Default 7mm rem mag

I was surprised to see no one included the 145g Barnes LRX bullet. my all around most long distance accurate, tight grouping, choice. 1/2 inch moa at 500m. Always have loved the Barnes bullets... they put game down. The 145g LRX just put game down when the game is farther away from you.

Default Thanks Everyone

Sounds like ultimately I will have to try some different factory loads and see how they perform with my rifle. There are a couple of cartridges that were mentioned multiple times by the posters in this thread so that will be my starting point. Thank you!

When a 7mmRM was my main rifle, 140 grain nosler partition factory loads federal premium was all I used on deer, moose and elk.
