Default fox trapping

Every spring I have a fox and weasel problem in with my chickens. What is the best way to trap these guys. I have tried the raw meat bait in a cage trap but they are too smart for me. Any suggestions would be good.

First it would be good to know if it's a fox or a weasel. Weasels can be taken quite easily with a weasel box and rat trap. Fox can be caught in footholds quite readily. Of course there are going to be those that say check your regs first. I personally look after my chickens first.

I have seen the fox and think I have fenced him out but would still like to trap him. My dead chickens have their heads removed which I think is the sign of a weasel.

Skimmerhorn has a good idea but then what would I do for aggravation.

I think the heads being removed is a sign of a Fisher. My Sweetheart found thirteen in one shot last last year just like that. The fence didn,t help as it climbed over. Weasels normally leave small puncure in the back of the neck, but they will also kill multiple chickens.
