Low shooting affair. Halfway through the 2OT and both teams have less than 40 shots each.

And there it is, Hurricanes win.

It’s because the canes are making them look like a junior team.

The Canes earned the win tonight. I’m not sure what the Caps were doing out there but they certainly weren’t playing desperate.

I feel this year is emphasizing more than most how much of a team game it is. Of the top 20 point guys in the regular season, only four (Marchand, MacKinnon, Panarin, and Rantanen) are still playing.

Great game. Round 2 is going to be spectacular now that most of the "top" picks are out of the way.

Most insane first round ever. Man if only a guy put $100 on all four top teams going out first round, I would think you would have done alright..
bring on round 2

And just a little add on, out of the 9 teams that finished the regular season with 100 points or more only 3 are moving on, Bruins, Islanders, Sharks and if Vegas hadn't blown the last 10 minutes of game 7 it would be only 2 moving on, WOW who could have predicted this ????

Yeah seen that as well on FB and tried to find an actual write up on it but couldn't. Said the same thing for the ref of game 2 in the TO / Boston series. No more playoffs.

However bad the call was that is not what caused Vegas to loose the game, their inability to kill the penalty was the cause imo, up to that point in the series the sharks were 4 for 29 on the power play, so they scored 1 goal in every 14 minutes and 30 seconds of power play time, during that power play they scored 4 goals in 5 minutes so 1 goal ever 1 minute and 15 seconds where the heck was the PK ????

In all honesty, if the bad call was never made, would the outcome of been different? Almost gaurenteed.
If the ref, handed out bad 5 min penalty’s to one team for the whole duration of the game, did they lose from having a poor pk or poor reffing?

Fair but had the call been made properly and was only 2 minutes instead of 5, would Vegas still be playing? Most likely. Refs didn't let in 4 goals, but they most certainly effected the outcome.

The lowest placing team from the East vs the lowest placing team from the west in the final. The team with the least regular season points win the Cup.

Refs gave a full 5 min to “obviously the most lethal PP unit everrrr..” but didn”t give San Jo the previous straight victories.

I know people are salty about the call, but Vegas has all kinds of other issues that caused their loss of the series. Refs only played one part, rest they did a great job of themselves.

Exactly....four officials on the ice....stop the challenges, reviews etc and play frickin'hockey.....mistakes are made all over the place....stoppage in play because the ice was slightly thinner in one area and that caused the play to be faster in one end.......stop the madness

Annnnnd if you don't like it.....play tag on a freeway!

Don't care how you spin it, the Refs themselves admitted to being wrong, and ultimately changed the outcome for a team at the most crucial time of year and that's BS.
It's playoffs, let the boys work it out on the ice. Put the whistles away and let them play.

You talking about the high stick goal for the Knights?
