There’s no birds there...... it’s best that everyone stay away.

Just porcupines.

Stay away ok?
Sooo, if a couple of Northern Hicks got lost in the big bald Prairie , would an understanding local give them a hand ?

Found it tough today...birds holding tight under the snow..many miles walked with only 2 encounters...dog flushed rooster at my feet and I missed ...another juvenile male..then later Ran into another smaller rooster and bagged him...saw a flock of dozen or so sharptails too but a mile away flying...taking tommorow off with my young family then back at it with dad on monday morning..then back to work...

Default 2 days, one outstanding

Did get invited to join the brothers for an opening day down south. Have a number of good friends living in Medicine Hat who seem to know good places to go.
Day one 2 birds, wild and 3 hunters .... tough walking for my old, almost feeble legs
Day 2 different farm, being attacked by wild birds, and some real nice big ones, wow Been forever since I saw 3 hunters get 5 wild mature birds in a 2 hour morning hunt. was fortunate enough to meet the farmer, a fine fellow who loves to hunt big game and helps his wild rooster population to winter well, a real Steward of the land.

Do you have a picture of one of that melanistic bird?

I Was hoping to cross paths with one of those melanistic, but the three of us (dad and brother) got a combo of mostly wild and a few released birds over 2.5 days hunting. First day we put on 23km with one rooster to show for some Extremely tired legs, day 2 and 3 were half as much walking with many more birds... guess there is something to working smarter not harder!

Not much better than watching an untrained 5 year old lab figure out how much fun it is to flush pheasants. Incredible to watch and so impressive to see how quick she picked it up.
