Default Rifle Identification Help

I'm looking for some assistance in properly identifying a rifle. The barrel stamp says "Whitworth Rifle Company, Manchester England" and there is a date stamp behind the trigger guard that reads "1943 AF 1949". Safety lever is on the upper left side. Mag release is inside the trigger guard. I've looked online and have seen a bunch that we're distributed by a different company but have yet to see one like this. I can send pictures if anyone has some clue as to what this may be. I'm guessing it's a 30-06 but no markings to tell me one way or the other.

Possibly a Lee Enfield. Does it have a 2 piece stock? Pictures would help.

I had a Whitworth 30-06 it was a sporterized p-17 enfield, the ears were milled off and was drilled for scope mounts. Does it have a dogleg bolt?

Won't let me upload pictures from my phone. Or, I just haven't figured out how to do it properly.

Posting for the OP:

Looks to me like:

It’s a very nice commercial re worked No4 Mk1, Lee Enfield, .303British.

Probably some sort of Limmey scope mount.

Nice guns in their day. Scope mount looks like one of those that replaced the back sight, fairly common..
