That is unfortunate, sad to hear that.

He's not legal in that pic (even with his head looking away ever so slightly). If he was in profile he would be even shorter. In my opinion he's not even close.

2x... But if you took him to the Cochrane office there would be a good chance he'd make it.

Sure he is but I agree the angle is bad.

If you guys are calling that a legal sheep, let me know the number to this game warden with no eyes in his head. I will go back and dump the ram i passed 3 days ago that is way closer than the sheep pictured here lol.

If he was "way" closer than the ram pictured...he was likely legal. The line doesn't lie. In this case, however, the angle of the ram's head does make him look slightly longer than he really is. Quite possibly enough to push his eye in front of the line. This is definitely not an angle to make a call from but he is close.

You've already been proven a fraud so why not just keep your 2 cents to yourself.

Haha I obviously missed something!!

FWIW...people arent talking about this ram because they're interested in shooting it. They're talking about it as he WAS shot already...hence the conversation about CO's, etc.

Just got back from a couple days up. Passed up a ram that was broomed a little 2 inches passed legal. Had a very nice tight curl to him. It was a tough slog in the deep snow for 16+ Km one way but I had a great time. Saw 3 different small bands of rams and a bunch of ewes.

My 2 cents on this ram pictured is that there is not a chance he is legal if put in profile. The squeeker my buddy got last year they also measured from the hard horn on the bases as well and not the soft part. That line posted on that ram is not correct and should be closer to the bases. Like I said my 2 cents.

Zoom in on the picture and you'll see that that is the base of the horn...it's just obscured a bit by hair. I'm not arguing that he's legal but the line is bang on.

For arguments sake if that picture shows him to be right on legal from that angle, as he turns his head to square, the line will move back as well. You can easily misjudge them if you don't have a straight side view. Unless a rams horns pinch in right against his face, which that one doesn't, that angle shows him to be not legal. For guys new to the game, if you see a ram make sure you get a good look square from the side if he is close like this one is. I think he might just make the back of the eye, maybe.
