This is a great bow for kids of all ages and this sounds like a great opportunity. I would take him up on this.

diamond atomic. I may have some (1 or 2) for sale. These are great bows because they only weight 2 lbs and have great range of adjust-ability. They are also small and compact.

At age 4 and 6 the Genesis bows might be a great option or even a recurve.

My 6 (turning 7) y/o girl and my 10 y/o girl both shoot a Diamond Atomic. Great little bows and lots of adjustment. I put some rubber finger guards on the string and they shoot them without having to wear a finger guard and really helps them have fun and keep it enjoyable.

another vote for the Diamond Atomic.

My 6 year old is on his second year with his and really starting to shoot great.

I tied on a D loop for him this spring and got him into a wrist strap release. Hes putting up some great groups now and having even more fun.
