Default WW2 firearms collectors?

I aquired a Mossberg 42M which I'm lead to believe was manufactured prior to 1944. It has the trap door in the butt stock, peep sight, detachable magazine. From what I can gather is these were used as training guns. It seems to be in very nice shape for the vintage.

Are these guns collectable?

Default Mossberg

I have a 46m with the S-130 rear aperture sight. I have found it to be quite accurate and enjoyable to shoot. I think you will enjoy shooting your new 42m. Please post some pictures when you have a chance.

I have a Mossberg 144LS - extremely accurate, accuracy almost as good as my 52s or 40X and much more affordable.

I'm not to sure what I'm going to do with it. If it's collectable should I be shooting It?
