Default Advice for .223 loads in Savage LightWeight Hunter

I recently bought a beautiful little Savage Light Weight Hunter Mdl 11/111 in .223.
Has 20" barrel with 1in9 twist. Also have a bunch of Winchester 735 powder. Wondering if anyone has reload data suggestions taking those specs into account? Thanks

I've been smacking the gong @ 500 meters with ease, using my load... At the 700m mark, it starts getting tricky.

Rifle - Savage model 16 FLHSS
Barrel - 22" with 1:9.25" twist
Bullet - Hornady 68gr BTHP Match
Brass - Hornady @ 1.750"
Powder - Varget @ 24.5 grains
Primer - CCI 450 Mag Small Rifle
COAL - 2.310"

I have some wc735 that was purchased in bulk from a store in ontario,it no longer in inventory.

The label said it was spherical and 5% faster than h335,if that is the powder you have i had success with 50g bt noslers.

When i was doing load development it was based on h335 data, starting low then progressing up.

My Savage .223 (1:9") has 2 pet loads, VERY slight accuracy edge to the lighter bullets.

53gr. Hornady V-Max
25.7gr. Varget

55gr. Hornady V-Max
25.5gr. Varget

Looks like Varget is the powder of choice for most of you - will have to keep my eyes open for a sale on it. Meanwhile, I will work on some WC735 recipes & see if I can achieve consistent sub moa

Default Using a nosler 50g bt

When i started using this powder for the 223 i used this link as a starting point.
I have several rifles. The encore pro hunter i obtain good results with a charge of approximately 23 grains of wc735. I then played with different variables. On a savage#25 i had good results with a charge of approximately 24.7grain.

I have a savage model 25 Lightweight Varminter with A 1:9 twist. It absolutly loves sierra 69 GR. HPBT MATCHKINGs with Varget Powder. I can't remember the exact charge off hand but the heavier bullets for that twist rate work very well in my rifle. I have also run 65 and 68 gr pills thorough it as well with good results.

Had best results with Varget this past summer - sub MOA with both 25.5 & 26.0 grains of Varget pushing Hornady 55 gr bulk Spire point flat base bullets
