I used to be switching hooks all the time and my dad would stick with his len Thompson red devil. Pretty sure we caught the same amount of fish...maybe Dad caught a few more.
I think we've come close to six a few times on the river as well, but we are fishing higher up by Rocky. Go to is a 00 Len...No sturgeon either.

Take lots of sandwiches and snuggle up to the dogs, gonna be cool this weekend. That walleye is ready to pop, what a pig. I've only been down a couple times since the opener, it was surprisingly very peaceful.
That's super awesome - a lowly jig/minnow. Sometimes we complicate the hell out of fishing, when the bread/butter hooks/rigs work just as well or better. That looks like a nice sized Silver Redhorse Sucker!!!
