Default Weatherby Camilla - any one have one?

I am looking for a new rifle for my wife. She currently shoots a Browning AB3, but she always seems to be reaching with it, and doesn't seem to be as comfortable behind it, as I would like. She isn't very experienced, so that might be the issue, but it just doesn't seem to fit her.

On the weekend, I was looking at a Weatherby Camilla. I was impressed. Does anyone have one or know someone who does? How is it? Is it worth the investment?

They are based off the vanguard I think
Real nice rifles for the ladies
I’m sure she would be happy with it
I know before it was almost impossible to find one
I was looking with no luck

I bought my wife one of the Weatherby girlhunt vanguards in 7-08 and she didn’t like it.

She’s 5’2” 110 pounds, and found the recoil to be too much for her, we tried reduced recoil 140 gr loads, and some 120 gr handloads around 2850 FPS, but with the scaled down stock and the overall light weight of the rifle it was actually a pretty snappy little set up.

She’s shooting a ruger number 1 in 6mm now that we’re modifying to fit her and she shot 40 rounds at the range last week and would have gone for more had her feet not gotten cold.

My daughter handled one of the Camilla's. Didn't quite fit her right. Ended up getting a Browning X-Bolt Micro Composite. She handled around 8 different compacts/youth models before settling on that one.

Woman tend to have rounder shoulders and longer necks then men so "Hog back" stocks tend to fit them better then straight or montecarlo stocks but everyone is different.

Trades I would interested in:
- Sightron rifle scopes, 4.5x14x42mm or 4x16x42mm
especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

Guys and Gals "could" fall into this.

Uncomfortable shooting positions as we attempt to fit rifles that don't really fit us,,, alot of things we use "in life" are like this.

We fall into bad habits by compensating for things, some times this is not the best idea.

Lucky thing is that "if" we "choose" to address this stuff,,, life becomes much simpler.

I don't know what other people do to address this in their daily lives,,, but I'm / our family and friends follow one rule for everything that comes at us in our lives,,, we call it the "relaxed fit."

The only person that will know this, is the person them self.

I'm probably more wrong then right !
