Tons of suckers in the SSR, put in a few extra miles and go get em. Catch a few goldeye n whatever else between suckers.
Find some slow water, and drown some worms to the bottom. If you use bigger hooks you might be able to keep the goldeye off better if you solely want to focus on suckers.
But beware, depending on where you are fishing you may still hook into a Dino. If that's the case, you're gonna want to have the right gear/setup.

dickson dam trout pond is loaded with suckers, just a piece of worm on a hook and you are made in the shade.

You don't have to leave calgary to find them. Both the bow and elbow have pockets of those ugly things. Beaded blood worm works every time if your fly fishing

Dickson Trout Pond ... rainbow's love cooked shrimp or "Pink" shrimp-flavored M-Mellows, but these suckers just couldn't resist the smell/taste of shrimp, their approx 10" in length, good bait for Lakers or monster Pike.

I guess it depends on where, I would say go to town if your fishing a trout pond with no predators, less so in a real ecosystem
