Default what to do with a crown vic

i got drunk and bought an ex cop car a couple of years back. i put new tires on it and now it sits...

i'm currently trying to trade it for a cheap field truck/4x4 so i can drive to my pond and ice fish in the warmth or move dirty stuff around the yard etc.. basically trying to find something semi useful.

but if that fails it only has like 170k km and it runs great so i could do something neat with it like a frame swap. i saw some cheap older rolling chassis cars and trucks.

no i don't want to drive it as is i just want to entertain myself.

LOTS of those cars sell on facebook. Kids buy them and tint out the windows, pretend to be cops. They sell quite easy.

well i have it for 1500 or trade for a bagged out 4x4 so hopefully i don't dump thousands into a frame swap lol

p.s. it is so much fun to pull up fast behind someone and follow them. it wears off quick though..

Lots of cheap F-150's with the same engine and transmission on Kijiji, would actually be pretty easy to build a lifted 4x4 cop car...

You could take it wheelin at MOAB, Utah: http://www.fourwheeler.com/news/1601...of-moab-video/

A few years ago there was a Crown Vic with a mixed group of 4x4's at the river crossing to Waiparous Falls. It made it that far without any help from the other rigs. According to a Tacoma owner, it was more capable than the Chevy truck in their group.

well realistically that would be super cheap to do except the paint.

cut the springs etc paint the wheels to they're a nice deep black again...

but i'm almost certain if i said to the wife that i wanted to start driving the crown vic that she would cut my vic off.

Take the cutting torch to it and turn it into a convertible. Just send it!

Get the band back together. It has cop tires, cop motor, cop brakes, time to call Elwood and the boys.

Let me know where you playing, I'll come. Even if the bands no good love to see the cop car outside, and throw a few beer bottles at the cadge.

My cousin bought a X Cop car from Calgary. Uses it a commuter between Calgary and Strathmore for the last 3 years. No repairs but brakes oil and fluilds. And a lot of drilled holes in the body and dash, rear doors do not open on the inside. That's for holding people ya don't like. hehe

that was my plan that's why i grabbed a low km one.

it just wasn't the wife's plan... i do a lot of things without consulting her, it's probably very frustrating.

Crown Vic front ends are commonly used to swap into a 70s Pick Up.

Once saw a car (similar vintage) parked out on the ice off the shoreline. Checked it out to find three guys sitting inside icefishing through holes cut in the floorboards. Run the heater every now and then ... better than a tent.

Sweet ride. Growing up in Toronto bought an X city cop car in 1974. Canary yellow (horrid colour) they were. Ford custom heavy duty almost everything (only made them for I think maybe 2 yrs). This thing had a 2 barrel carb with a 250 ci engine (made for city) but would smoke the tires and on the highway at high speed ( believe it or not) could go from Toronto to Windsor in 2 and 1/2 hrs. (math required ) and only use a 1/2 tank of fuel. Not as pretty as the VIC but HELL YA gimme another one

Knew a guy who fished out of a chevy van for years, trap doors in the floor to fish through, little wood stove, comfy fishing machine.

I saw an episode on Red Green once where he and his nephew put gull wings on a car. Awesome job. You could give that a go!
