I don't know about Nosler, but Hornady bought Frontier Brass some time ago. I have some Hornady ammo that I bought about 13 years ago that had Frontier headstamps, these days I don't see Frontier on headstamps anymore but they do sell some ammunition labelled as Frontier, I have some of it in .223 Rem.

Now I'm wondering what the headstamps will read on the Frontier ammo I have, I'll check and report back, but my guess it that it will read Hornady.

Frontier was Hornady for as long as I can remember. Just saw a post from Wolverine Supplies about Hornady having partnered with Lake City arsenal to produce ammo for them. And earlier this wk an announcement that Winchester had won the contract to run Lake City. I'll let you figure that one out.

Read quite a bit about Hornady brass being poor for reloading? Have about 50 range pickups.

I expect the biggest complainers are those that push the limits in it, primer pockets usually. I have seen posts where it wasn't consistent brass from people who wanted to use it for range comps. So, it depends what you want from it. Used it with my 450-400, it worked fine for me on that, shot cast out of that though. Have some for the 300H&H, but haven't reloaded any yet. Have some for the 6.5cm, only 40 rds, may use it for practice loads down the road.

Default maybe

I'll just use them for cast chicken loads with the 93gr LEE Tokarev bullet. 3.5gr -Red Dot/860fps or 5gr Unique/1020fps

Hornady is very consistent brass. And you have to try to loosen primer pockets on the stuff I’ve tried.

Never had any issue with the Hornady brass I've reloaded. Worse issue I've had is having the die set up wrong and crushing the shoulder but I've done that with Winchester, Federal and Remington brass as well. User error not issue with the brass.

.17 Hornet brass (Hornady ) is the only source I have found so far, primer pockets are all over the map, big, small and some just right.....Your results may vary.

*All brass sourced from original factory loaded rounds...same rifle etc... not same lot, rounds purchased in about a 16 months period (about 1000 rounds).... If I could find a different source I would not buy their brass*.

I have had no issues with Hornady brass. Used it for 308, 708, and 223. Still using it for 223.

After the US military wound down lots of combat operation in the middle east, Lake City had excess production capacity so was doing contract runs (or leasing production equipment time, I'm not sure which) and Hornady did do some production runs there. I'm not sure if they still are, but I have some .223 SP and BTHP bulk that was likely loaded there. That would be amusing if Winchester was loading for Hornady...

I have not had any trouble reloading Hornady brass, have reloaded it for my 257WM, 17 hornet, 223, 300WM, 338WM and 6.5PRC never had an issue, mind you I have found that most of the time the most accurate load is a gr or two less than max, rarely do I push the limit.

Hornady brass, in the 17 H it is all over the place, at least the older stuff was. The Hornady brass I use for the 375 Ruger has been very good. I have never tried their brass in other calibres. Thus my take on Hornady is 50/50. I used to use a lot of WW brass until Lapua got to be very close to the same price and now I use Lapua if I can get it in the cartridge I am loading.
