Yah. This is the clueless garbage that causes rifts. You have no idea what you are talking about.
First, police have ZERO to do with conviction rates. That's the Crown and the courts.
Second, they don't coddle anything including themselves. Nor do 95% of them spend any time with speeding tickets, especially urban centres. They spend most of their time responding to calls for service that keep increasing due to an escalating lack of responsibility and entitlement of the average Joe.
More officers are being charged today than 20 years ago and in many cases for things they'd never consider charging the public for all due to an increase in public scrutiny thats been put on themselves by themselves.
Defacing is a strong word for someone that's never worn that uniform or given public service a whirl. That patch represents their commitment to the job, the people in the community and each other. How many of your friends have been shot doing their job? Machete to the neck and arm? Run over? Spit on, punched in the face, had feces thrown at them? All while trying to do the right thing?
Yah, none. What's embarrassing is people that rant and talk like they have a clue, but don't know a pinch of it.
Go sign up and fix it. Be a leader. At least take a ride along and get a clue. Might open your mind a bit.
