Default C-21 and Inheritance

Prior to the recent freeze on hand guns, it was always my intention that my son would eventually inherit mine. What happens now? Do they just turn into paper weights when I kick the bucket. I would transfer them to him now but he is 7.

That is the whole idea, as the current owners die off, there are no new owners, and legal handguns disappear.

Just before you passed away you buried them somewhere and your next of kin doesn't know where they are..... *Wink wink*

If someone dies are the RCMP even notified?

Around 2010 I was asked by a family to look at some guns left behind, the rifles and one pistol (registered) were sent to a dealer for sale, another was a S&W 38 snubnose he carried as a store owner in the 50's it had a certificate of ownership from the 60's that was never updated. The snubby was turned in and deactivated to be kept by the family as a memento, the weird part is the person had passed away in the 70's nobody ever contacted them.

My statement was that LEGAL handguns disappear, if the registered owner dies, and the handgun can't be legally transferred to a new owner, it becomes an illegal handgun.

Similar to me when my Father passed... I notified the ASRSEYMP and 4-5 years later they got all hot and bothered and threats of charges and such with my 82 year old Mother ... I stepped in and they were the same to me ... I mentioned a registered letter to them 4-5 years ago and documented telephone calls and they shut the Frig up real qwik and then referred to me as Sir (there is a reach - lol) and transferred the pistol to me within the day
