If you think alberta fish and game did a good job then your part of the problem
If they did such a good job, they wouldn’t have lost the managing of these permits to apos
They put virtually zero effort into it

I think AEP was a bigger problem to the whole MSL license situation this year. Between not getting the paper work the AFGA, the back door dealings, not following through what they said; its a good thing they work for the govt or they all would have been fired long ago

I tried to hold AEP accountable for the poop show they had going on and there was just no way. My "Official Actions" got closed out with out ever being addressed, no one would provide me any answers, no one would provide me with documentation, and then all the back door dealings that went on.

Typical govt BS

Default 2023 Resident MSL Raffles

Any information released to the public on the 2023 resident MSL raffles? I have emailed my MLA and received a reply that they would forward my questions to AEP.

Second question, They did not do a good job, or did not raise enough money by only using Alberta residents? And now these hunts have to use an outfitter?

I heard a rumor that ACA was trying to take them on for this year to get it going but due to AGLC rules they weren't allowed.

So here we are in May of 2023 with no resident raffle for MSL.
But yet, they have successfully sold all the MSL at auction already.

Will the residents get a raffle this year?
When will it come out if it ever does?
Why can't they run it though Alberta RELM like they do draws?

At this point, even if it does come out, the auction tag buyers already have a 3-4 month head start on procuring resources, research, trip planning, and life planning.

The message is very clear. AEP is quite ok with selling our resources abroad while stiffing the Alberta resident.

If there isn't a Alberta resident raffle, I hope and pray that they shut down the auction tags.

Is a resident that owns allocations not a real resident?

AlbertaRELM would be a great way to do it!
No answers from my MLA.... not holding my breath either as Ron Orr is most likely already considered himself retired as he is not running for re-election.

MSL Raffle
Through my emails to my MLA (Ron Orr=useless) and AEP I received a call on May 10th, from Mr. Besko, Executive Director of Hunting and Fishing Branch, Forestry Environment and Parks. Told me there will be a resident raffle for all six species, additionally the Moose and Pronghorn raffles will have two tags/winners drawn. Said he couldn't provide any further details at this time but expected information to be released soon.
Now over two weeks later, very disappointing that we are still without any details. I'm sure the election is the excuse.
