What would be a good lake to go to that is within 5 hours of Edmonton, and has cabin/boat rentals? Something like Winefred lake? Good pike fishing is what i am after, and for a big group of people.

Thanks in advance

Ok thanks, I'll google it and see if it looks worthwhile. I'm starting to think northern Saskatchewan may be the answer

Winerfred lake outfitters, they have a great spot there on the lake, and the road is shorter by 32 kms than Winefred lake Lodge.

Call Sheri to book a trip, you wont be sorry!

If you want within 5 hours you could go west to william a provincial aprk - as for cabins i am not sure but the lakes are ok, nothing crazy though. Or you could go east just inside sask and hit up meadow lake provincial aprk(also not aure about cabins situation). Where we have gone for 15 years is newmart fishig and hunting resort. Its cheap, great fishing and a beautoful place. However it is closer to 9 hours. Definitely worth a look at their website... Good luck whichever way you go!

Its really great, like i said the extra 4 hours is worth it. Only 1 other resort kn the lake and we are going mid july. I find overall i do prefer mid august for weather and fishing and lack of as many bugs. Faye and daryl are the owners and the time you are said and done you will be around 350-400 per person for 5 days.

Once again good luck, you wont regret it if you do go.
