No more laptops and tablets are allowed in carry on baggage, they have to be in your checked luggage.

This only applies from flights from Africa and Middle eastern country's

Would seem prudent to apply it to all countries.

Pretty sure it is based on the security procedures of individual countries. Canada and the US have similar security checks on electronics which is why the ban doesn't apply here and only applies to direct flights from the named countries.

If I remember correctly, they are all countries that US airlines do not fly to so it will affect other airlines.

So instead of the device blowing up in the cabin, it will blow up in the cargo hold? Whew. That's better. I feel safer already.

If you can't trust that passengers are adequately screened at some third world airport, how can you assume that the baggage will be adequately screened?

Sounds like another "this LOOKS like security" sort of initiatives.

No way do I ever put my computer in checked baggage for baggage handlers to play soccer with or steal.

Does this effect you in anyway? Will you be going for a holiday in any of those countries?
Are you a explosive expert? Do you know anything about explosives.
I'll guess your answer is no.

I guess I could ask the same of you. Yet you yammer on. OK expert, explain to me, civilly, how this makes air travel safer when the explosives can be in the cargo hold. We're all listening intently.

Oh no my internet credibility has been called out.

Anyway, I'll leave the safety of air travel to the experts. But feel free to contact the United States and tell the NSA, CIA and whoever else this is stupid because you already found a way around their policies.

Thanks. Glad you're here to straighten people out.
I promise never to question anything government and their experts say.

You guys need calm down. The airlines just trying to make a few extra bucks by forcing the travellers to purchase the in flight movies instead of watching the movies on passengers laptops and tablets...

C'mon, you have seen the video's of all the baggage handlers. They are trained to throw all bags at least 15'; minimum 8' up, 7' out to render all triggering devices useless.

It's for our safety, doncha know?
