Default Looking For An Alberta Artist.

Just buried my best buddy of 11 years, blue heeler dog named Sage. Dog went everywhere with me, helped me through the uncertainties and tough times of early adulthood. Feel lost without the dog, it tears you apart. Anyways Im looking for an Alberta Artist to do either a Water Color or Oil painting of her. Anyone know any exceptionally talented painters in province. Thanks.

check out my buddy Ben's work https://www.theartofbenjamincaunt.com/

he grew up in alberta, but currently resides in Fairmont BC. You'll see his stuff for sale at places like wholesale sports, as he won one of the ducks unlimited art contests, a couple of years ago.

most importantly, i'm very sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss...always terrible to lose your best friend.

Kate at smalldeadanimals.com also is a dog lover and artist. She's in Saskatchewan, so not sure if that's too far or not. She has her work on her website there to check out.

Take a look at Trish's blog and her paintings. She does pastels and her work is stunning.

She did a portrait from photo's of my GF's brother, who passed away 10 years ago, and when she gave it to her parents in South Africa, they were overwhelmed.

Packhuntr: sorry to hear that; know how you feel.

Also, should you be interested, you can get smaller stones of any size with the name , date, etc lazer-etched right in to the stone (they are way cheaper than grave stones).
(Those are the same technology as some of the gateway or business stones you see nowadays.)

What about the young lady that did the SCI prints last year? She's from Alberta, and her prints were quite good. Maybe contact SCI and get her name. I can't think of it right now.

Hey Wes...sorry to hear.

I'm not sure If your interested in a carving rather than a painting, but you might want to talk to Jordan Straker, he's in Calgary. Ive met him personally and seen his work. It's absolutely AMAZING! Real nice guy.

http://www.jordanstraker.com/

Good luck!

Sorry to hear, sucks losing them.

I know at the care center in Calgary they have some oil paintings up that look pretty good that are done by a local artist. Looks like you got lots of response but if you are interested I can stop by there on the way home and get the number of the artist.

Pack, not sure if the following is in your budget, but perhaps worth a call.

Amy Keller Remp is THE most prominent up and coming Artist in Alberta.

http://www.amykeller.com/art/

This gal has made some serious in roads that most Alberta painters only can hope for.

I will warn you though; her stuff does not look that great on the net. Her paintings are much more impressive in person.

Jamie
