Default How does everyone load their plastic ice shack?

Recently picked up a Koenders ice hut. ( I know it’s early) these things are really heavy. How do two guys load one of these into a truck bed?

The guy I bought it from said that two guys lift the front and then one guy hold it up. Then the other guy backs the truck up under the nose to hold to the front up. Next both guys move to the back and lift it and finish sliding it in. Now I’m a young strong fella but this thing is a beast. No way my girlfriend could help me do it. Any ideas that incorporate a come-along or ramps or something?

Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know that I have ever seen one of those, looks like a 3 man job especially if it was icy or windy.

You could probably use a small winch and ramps.

It looks to me like it could be loaded like a plywood shack. Stand it on end and back the truck up to it. Tip it over onto tailgate and slide it in or winch it in if you’re by yourself. No ramps needed.

I load mine just like you described. It is easier loading onto a trailer but doable with my son who was 11 when I bought the shack.

When I had one of those shacks I used to load it my self just like you said. It was very tricky in the wind getting it to
Stay tilted then running to the truck
And backing in. I no longer have one of those shacks but I do now have a warn 1700 synthetic winch and a set of aluminum ramps in my truck at all times I made a quick release system to plug and attach the winch in the box of the truck. If I still had one of those shacks it would load with a push of a button.

One of the slickest setups I seen was a plastic shack hooked up to a quad with tracks that drove on and off the trailer without being unhooked. The quad had a snow blade on it so when he arrived to where he wanted to fish he'd drop the blade to clear the snow for the shack to sit. The shack had two propane bottles mounted on it as well for a heater and small stove inside.
