Great shooting.

Wondering what hunting position you are referring to.

Thanks.
I’m using a bipod and turkey chair. I can go out walking then get in the chair when shooting. It seems to work to 500y. I’m gonna try to get it to600y but it might not be possible.

That's pretty fine shooting using that equipment, I am happy to hit a coyote in the chest at 300 with sticks and a chair.

No kidding. I was thinking you were probably shooting prone.

Hats off to you sir!

I don’t shoot prone as it makes me sore. The chair is a harder to shoot from. But being able to have my head up to see what’s coming in is nice. Then not much movement to range dial and shoot. Next time out I’m going to try 500 and 600. I’ll post results.

Good shooting. Field condition practice makes good hunts! What gun are you using ?

Savage 11 trophy hunter. 243. 75gr hornady factory. 4x16 elite 4500
It’s light to carry around. And it didn’t cost much.

That is great shooting. I have never shot groups from field positions, but I do shoot reactive targets from 100-800 yds seated off bipod, sticks, and home made quad pod sticks. It's fun to be able to punch 2-6" targets way out there with first round hits.
Your groups are fantastic though
What's your positioning?( how your seated shooting 90° to your body? Or across your body?) are you using sling? How are you controlling the butt of the rifle? Are you loading the bipod? What kind of bipod? Sorry for all the Qs but I kinda geek out on positional shooting lol always looking for tips or scraps of tips that lead to more first round hits.

The bipod is between my legs. Caldwell bipod. Make sure it’s not touching. No sling. Just pull the gun tight to shoulder. Some down pull with left hand. A lot is in the practice of getting the same hold.

3 shots 600y. 3.5” group. I think that’s the max my rangefinder will work on a coyote
