Default Peeps

Jus curious on who all uses what type of peep on their bow. All I've ever used is the kinds that have rubber tubing going to the buss cable. Really starting to question it after my latest bow setup. The demo in the store seemed to be a fair bit quieter, and when it comes to what's on the strings, my bow has more leeches, and twice the amount of limb bands.

I use the G5 peep seems to work for me and the wife. She had a slinky one on the bow when she bought it. It made a lot of noise so I took it out put other in, then adjusting for a bit of string stretch she's never had a problem.

Jim Fletcher tru-peep can't be beat. Nice round edges and there cheap! Don't like the Metas with there sharp edges, the new ones are suppose to be better, but I haven't had a chance to look at one yet.

Dont use a peep but install dozens of dozens a year..

Couple points ... I would warn everyone to avoid the rubber band peeps with any bow over or even near 300 FPS..
back in the day when bows were a smokin 250 and cables were steel ,plastic coated they were the deal...

However with todays high speed bows they beat the crap out of strings ,Yokes and peep area..

I have seen them ruin both cable and string in 75 shots on new string with a 340 FPS bow...
If you can imagine someone smakin ya in the butt with a 300 FPS plus rubber band you would understand the damage...

ironically it picks on the peep most...installing a peep will weaken your string by 50% each side of the peep... doesnt take much to beat up that split in the string...replaced half a dozen strings this fall due to that...and will usually get almost that with broken strings mostly at peep..deue to that and a few other reasons mentioned above...

a propely install peep on a bow that has strings that have settled and using loop should never have to be adjusted again...so a ordinary double strand works very well or as stated above the no peep/anchor styles..

or even better no peep at all ...most would be amazed on how well, or even better some can shoot without a peep...some with eye issues will need a peep but the majority really doesnt...

and its one thing lesss to worry about in the field...KISS Syndrom
