Question Itching for some pheasant bowhunting.

Hey folks!

With all these loose pheasants around, I thought I'd pick the collective brain of the forum to see what anyone here might suggest as far as flu flu's... See, I have a compound bow, and I have no shortage of turkey feathers... but I'm wondering if it would be worth buying some new bare carbon shafts and making my own flu flu's, or should I try to find a little recurve and buy some wood shafts/premade flu flu's?

Thanks!

Sean

recurve would be a better bet whether you buy arrows or make your own. just a lot smoother to shoot instinctively.

Hmmm... Alright. I guess I'll have to pinch a few pennies then. Suppose it was only a matter of time. I've kinda always wanted to shoot traditional... Any recommendations on fairly good quality ones that won't break the bank?

Default Flu Flus

I have shot recurve bows with flu flus at aerial foam targets for years.
Would love to try pheasants but don't know where to go for that. I have an old Redwing Thunderbird pulling 47 pounds that I use. Bear Archery makes fine recurves or you might try Bearpaw Recurves, very nice, fast smooth bows.

Default Flu Flus

Wood arrows are super easy to make, just need shafting some feathers, tools and nocks. Have been doing it for years. Its lots of fun.

Excellent! Thanks for the reply, Elk! I'll look into those bows, maybe take a trip into town and try a few out. As for the pheasants, you wouldn't believe who I might know... Let's just say, we've got about 600 pheasants walking around outside...

*cough* wwbirds *cough*
