Nice arrows. I take it you're shooting a LB or recurve. You want the cut to be square and no splintering. No access to a shop eh? Where are you?
If your cuts aren't square your inserts won't seat properly and your broadheads won't spin true. I'd use a cut off disc of some type before a hack saw.............even a mitre saw with a cut off disc on it would work and give you a square cut. Whatever you do.......do a test cut first...longer than what you need the arrow to be.....then you'll know whether to continue cutting your arrows.
I made this saw recently. Sewing machine motor, 3 inch cut off disc, 3 inch angle iron, 1 inch aluminum flat stock and a piece of oak.........even comes with the foot pedal.
