Default Stonefly observations and things I hate...

Two things really..: (and some observations)

1. The big veteran fish seem to sometimes decide they want to swamp the fly.... then take it when its under the water..... It takes me a while to get the nack of it, but I did rip a few big boys on the Crow today.

2. The ultra-creepiness of them huge bugs crawling up my neck or worse..... up my shorts!!!! eeeaayyyy!!

One observation (might not be accurate)..... I've seen this a few times... but pods of fish seem to cue in on the loud rise noise of the others rising and next thing you know... there's fish splashing all over the place.... then it shuts down. ..then slpash.. splash and its all on again! It really dosent seem to depend on the amount of stoneflies on the water as i see tonnes.....

interesting.

yup.. Im letting the cat out of the bag.. the fishing is epic down here right now.

take a sick day while you can.

I was on the bow last night and also from my previous trips I would agree with you that pods of fish seem to rise at the same times.

And the fishing is epic right now, lots of big browns rising!
