Default Ice fishing lake Windermere

Hi all I’m looking for some advise/direction for fishing lake Windermere BC.
We are here for a week and the kids want to try it out. Not worried about what species we catch it’s just fun to catch. I have a tent and an auger but not sure what rods or tackle I can find.
Thanks in advance.

Tons of people go out off of Windermere Public Beach. Take the 93 towards Fairmont, turn right at The Bench road. You can drive on there. It’s really shallow. 5-7 feet.
Apparently pikeminnow, some bass, the odd trout.
I’ve not caught anything in 2 short trips myself.

Thank you.
I see people in groups out on the ice so I assume they know something? What to use for hooks, bait? I think it’s a marginal fishery 🤔

Lots of suckers, can catch bass and trout if you're lucky. I used small tungsten jigs. It's a pretty shallow lake.

You should go the other direction... probably some good fishing up there. Probably need a few extra layers and an extension for the auger tho..
Good choice weather wise.
