I am not into spending money just to have a status symbol, or for whatever reason uber-rich people would buy something like that. I was just saying, a grand is as much as I would ever pay for a rifle like that. I prefer function to form I guess. Mind you, I know nothing about the rifle, maybe it aims itself and shooting one holes at 500 yards, I could not begin to call someone a liar for stating anything about that rifle.
Again, pretty wood.

Nope...those stocks are Walnut.
A Desert Ironwood (Olneya tesota) rifle stock would make my heart skip a beat (so do the ones pictured)....But you'd be hard pressed to find a stick (free of cracks, checks, knots etc.) big enough to make a rifle stock from it. Even if you did find a piece big enough...SWEET MOTHER...would it be expensive!
Damn heavy as well...I'd bet an Iron wood rifle stock alone would weigh close to 10 lbs. It is a common wood for pistol grips though.

I'm almost certain that the stocks are Claro Walnut. Generally Claro is dark brown with alot of fiddle back. Some people call it "tiger stripes". Claro comes from California.

You are more than likely right about the Claro. English, or "Turkish" Walnut (same tree) stock blanks can be just as, if not more figured, but 'typically' have a lot more black in them.

What I like about them is that they've got this fabulous wood, but don't have every centimetre of the metal carved with hunting scenes and flowers and crap. Heck, even the 'fancy' checkering on one of them is too much for me.
Granted, I'd never spend that much on a pair of rifles, but I'm not here to dis someone who would.

If I had that kind of money to spend on hunting and shooting,I would buy a couple of Echols Legends, and do an African hunt, and an Alaskan hunt with the money that was left over.

A $50 000 rifle, then top it off with a Leupold scope? Something wrong with this picture. Either an exaggerated price, or someone with too much money and not enough knowledge about optics.

It isn't 19 million,it's 190 thousand, which is still a ridiculous price to pay for a piece of termite bait.

Note smiley face above, just being a smart ***** on the number error. And yes, $190000 is a lot of money for a rifle that you certainly wouldn't want to drag up a mountain with you on a sheep hunt.

If I had the money this is the route I would go at about $15,000 per in 7MM Rem Mag and .375 H&H.

I know it isn't in the same class of the $50,000 rifles but for less than 5% of the cost of one of those you can get something like this right out of the box from a store.
